In a thrilling season opener, the Indianapolis Colts held off the Baltimore Ravens with a final score of 28-21. This Week 1 matchup set the tone for both teams as they look to establish themselves early in the 2026 season. The Colts managed to secure a critical win at home, showcasing their determination to compete in the AFC. Lamar Jackson led the Ravens offensively, throwing for 198 yards and two touchdowns, demonstrating his dual-threat capability. However, it was Jonathan Taylor who shined for the Colts, rushing for 100 yards and providing a solid ground game that kept the Ravens' defense on its toes. Alec Pierce also made significant contributions, racking up 81 receiving yards and aiding in the Colts' offensive efforts. Defensively, the game’s pivotal moment came from the Ravens, who were unable to capitalize on their opportunities despite strong performances from Roquan Smith, who recorded 10 total tackles, and Travis Jones, who added two sacks. The Colts' defense managed to contain the Ravens' late-game surge, ultimately holding off their comeback attempt. With Kyle Hamilton snagging an interception, the Ravens had chances, but it was Indianapolis’ resilience that sealed their victory.
