The Washington Commanders triumphed over the Minnesota Vikings with a final score of 37-20 in the Wildcard Round of the 2026 season. With both teams vying for a spot in the next round of the playoffs, the Commanders delivered a commanding performance to secure their advancement. Jayden Daniels was the standout performer for Washington, throwing for an impressive 357 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his ability to connect with his receivers under pressure. Antonio Williams was his primary target, racking up 147 receiving yards and consistently finding space in the Vikings' secondary. TreVeyon Henderson added valuable support on the ground, contributing 62 rushing yards to keep the defense guessing. Defensively, the Commanders were relentless, highlighted by Trey Amos' 11 total tackles, which helped contain the Vikings’ offense throughout the game. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Daniels threw his third touchdown pass, giving Washington a commanding lead that Minnesota couldn't overcome. Despite a strong effort from Eric Wilson, who recorded 1.5 sacks for the Vikings, the Commanders' offensive firepower proved too much to handle.
