In a thrilling Week 9 showdown, the San Francisco 49ers outlasted the Las Vegas Raiders with a final score of 40-33, securing a crucial victory that keeps their playoff hopes alive. With both teams eyeing a postseason berth, this game proved to be a pivotal moment in the 2026 season. Brock Purdy was the star of the night for the 49ers, throwing for an impressive 399 yards and five touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense with precision and poise. Meanwhile, the Raiders' Ashton Jeanty put up a strong ground game with 120 rushing yards, and Dont'e Thornton Jr. made big plays in the air, racking up 139 receiving yards. Despite their offensive efforts, it wasn’t enough to overcome the 49ers' explosive attack. Defensively, the 49ers were anchored by Fred Warner, who led the team with four total tackles, and Upton Stout, who secured a crucial interception that shifted momentum in San Francisco's favor. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Stout's interception set up a touchdown that extended their lead, allowing the 49ers to hold off a late-game surge from the Raiders. Maxx Crosby's 1.5 sacks for Las Vegas highlighted their defensive efforts, but ultimately, it was San Francisco's timely defense that sealed the game.
