In a tightly contested matchup, the New England Patriots narrowly defeated the Chicago Bears 17-14 in Week 7 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications on the line, both teams fought hard, but it was the Patriots who came away with the critical victory to bolster their postseason hopes. Jaxson Dart led the Patriots' offense with a solid performance, throwing for 269 yards while connecting with Romeo Doubs for 79 receiving yards. Despite Caleb Williams of the Bears throwing for two touchdowns, it was Dart's consistency that made the difference, allowing New England to stay competitive and ultimately secure the win. On the defensive side, the Bears were led by Devin Bush, who racked up 10 total tackles, but it was Grady Jarrett's lone sack that highlighted Chicago's defensive effort. The game's turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Patriots' defense held strong, forcing a crucial turnover on downs that allowed New England to maintain their slim lead and seal the victory.
