In a tightly contested matchup, the Jacksonville Jaguars narrowly defeated the Houston Texans 17-14 in Week 15 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications hanging in the balance, both teams fought hard, but it was the Jaguars who ultimately secured the crucial victory to bolster their postseason hopes. C.J. Stroud led the way for the Texans, throwing for 179 yards and a touchdown, solidifying his role as a key playmaker. David Montgomery contributed significantly on the ground with 68 rushing yards, while Nico Collins emerged as a reliable target, racking up 70 receiving yards. Despite these strong individual performances, the Texans fell just short of the mark. Defensively, Jaylon Carlies of the Jaguars stood out with a game-high nine tackles, playing a pivotal role in stifling Houston's offensive efforts. The turning point came in the fourth quarter when the Jaguars' defense tightened, forcing critical stops that allowed them to maintain their slim lead. While the Texans had their share of defensive highlights, including an interception by Derek Stingley Jr., it was Jacksonville’s resilience that ultimately sealed the victory.
