In a thrilling Week 8 matchup, the Miami Dolphins narrowly defeated the New England Patriots with a final score of 28-25, marking a significant win as both teams vie for playoff positioning in the 2026 season. This victory propels the Dolphins further into contention while leaving the Patriots fighting to stay relevant in the playoff race. Malik Willis showcased his skills under center for Miami, throwing for 270 yards and leading the offense effectively. On the other side, Drake Maye had a solid performance for the Patriots, tossing two touchdown passes to keep them competitive. Meanwhile, TreVeyon Henderson's impressive 116 rushing yards provided New England with a much-needed ground game, but it ultimately wasn't enough to secure the win. Defensively, Ashtyn Davis was a standout for the Dolphins, registering seven total tackles to help stifle the Patriots' offensive rhythm. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Miami's defense, led by Michael Taaffe's sack, pressured Maye into a critical mistake. Although Kevin Byard III recorded two interceptions for New England, the Dolphins' defense tightened when it mattered most, sealing the victory and handing Miami a crucial home win.
