In a commanding performance, the Washington Commanders topped the Dallas Cowboys with a final score of 52-23, marking a decisive win in Week 2 of the 2026 NFL season. This victory not only boosts the Commanders' confidence but also sends a strong message to the rest of the league as they establish their dominance early on. Leading the charge for Washington was Jacory Croskey-Merritt, who put on a spectacular display with 260 rushing yards, proving nearly impossible to stop on the ground. Dak Prescott had a solid outing for the Cowboys, throwing for 254 yards and three touchdowns, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with the Commanders' high-octane offense. CeeDee Lamb also shone brightly for Dallas, racking up 136 receiving yards in a losing effort. Defensively, the Commanders made key plays that shifted momentum in their favor. Jer'Zhan Newton recorded a sack that halted a promising Cowboys drive, while Rasul Douglas snagged an interception that sealed the game’s fate. The turning point came in the second quarter when Washington forced a turnover, allowing them to extend their lead and control the game for the remainder, ultimately securing a resounding victory.
