In an electrifying season opener, the Denver Broncos defeated the Kansas City Chiefs 52-39, showcasing their offensive firepower and setting a high bar for the 2026 campaign. Both teams entered the game looking to establish early dominance, but it was the Broncos who ultimately came out on top in this shootout. Bo Nix was the standout performer for Denver, throwing for an impressive 333 yards and six touchdowns, marking a sensational start to his season. Complementing his effort was Jaylen Waddle, who racked up 128 receiving yards and proved to be a reliable target throughout the game. While the Chiefs' Kenneth Walker led the ground attack with 85 rushing yards, it was clear that the Broncos' air assault was the decisive factor in the matchup. Defensively, the Broncos made key plays that turned the tide, with Nik Bonitto recording three sacks to stifle the Chiefs' offensive rhythm. Jonathon Cooper's interception added to the pressure on Kansas City, which struggled to keep pace as the game progressed. Ultimately, it was Denver's ability to capitalize on crucial defensive stops that allowed them to hold off a late charge from the Chiefs and secure the victory.
