In a decisive opening matchup of the 2026 season, the Cincinnati Bengals topped the Tampa Bay Buccaneers with a final score of 27-10. Both teams were eager to set the tone for the year, but it was the Bengals who quickly seized control and never looked back. Quarterback Joe Burrow led the charge for Cincinnati, throwing for 289 yards and a touchdown, showcasing his accuracy and poise. Tee Higgins was his favorite target, racking up an impressive 112 receiving yards, while the Bengals’ offensive line provided solid protection to keep Burrow upright throughout the game. On the other side, Kenny Gainwell managed to find some success on the ground for Tampa, but it wasn't enough to match the Bengals' offensive firepower. Defensively, the Bengals were anchored by Jonathan Allen, who recorded a crucial sack that disrupted Tampa Bay's momentum. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Cincinnati’s defense forced a turnover, allowing them to extend their lead and put the game out of reach. With key stops and relentless pressure, the Bengals’ defense proved to be a vital component of their Week 1 success.
