In a thrilling Week 17 matchup, the Detroit Lions narrowly defeated the Chicago Bears, with a final score of 34-31. With playoff implications on the line, both teams fought hard, but it was the Lions who came out on top, solidifying their position heading into the postseason. Lions quarterback Shedeur Sanders was the star of the show, throwing for 291 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his poise and precision under pressure. Cam Skattebo added a solid ground game with 62 rushing yards, complementing Sanders' aerial attack. Meanwhile, Devin Hester of the Bears shone brightly with 126 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to carry his team to victory. On the defensive side, Josiah Trotter led the Bears with eight total tackles, but the Lions' ability to create key plays ultimately decided the game. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Sanders connected with his receivers in clutch situations, allowing Detroit to maintain their lead despite a late surge from Chicago. The defense held firm when it mattered most, sealing the win and securing the Lions' playoff aspirations.
