In a thrilling Week 16 showdown, the Memphis Steamers narrowly defeated the New Orleans Saints 23-20, solidifying their playoff aspirations as the regular season nears its conclusion. Sam Darnold led the Saints with a standout performance, throwing for 309 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to move the ball through the air. Meanwhile, Jalen Milroe provided the Steamers with a key ground game, rushing for 64 yards, while Mike Thomas put on a receiving clinic for New Orleans, racking up an impressive 172 yards. Defensively, the game turned when Aenas Williams intercepted Darnold, giving Memphis a pivotal momentum swing late in the contest. Will Anderson Jr. also made his presence felt with five total tackles, helping to stifle the Saints' offensive efforts.
