In a decisive Week 16 matchup, the Minnesota Vikings topped the Washington Commanders with a final score of 32-12, solidifying their playoff positioning as the regular season winds down. With both teams fighting for their postseason lives, Minnesota delivered a commanding performance that showcased their strengths on both sides of the ball. Trevor Lawrence led the charge for the Vikings, throwing for 249 yards and a touchdown, while also distributing the ball effectively to his receivers. Randy Moss emerged as a key target, racking up 84 receiving yards, and Trey Benson contributed on the ground with 63 rushing yards. This offensive efficiency allowed Minnesota to control the game and keep Washington’s defense on its heels. Defensively, the Vikings were relentless, with Brian Burns notching 1.5 sacks and Cor'Dale Flott intercepting a pass, further stifling any momentum the Commanders attempted to build. The turning point came midway through the second quarter when Flott's interception halted a promising Washington drive, allowing Minnesota to capitalize and extend their lead. The combination of a potent offense and a stout defense ultimately sealed the victory for the Vikings.
