In a tightly contested battle, the Los Angeles Chargers narrowly defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 20-17 in Week 13 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications on the line, both teams were eager to secure a crucial victory, but it was the Chargers who ultimately emerged victorious. Chargers quarterback Tyler Shough led the offensive charge with 191 passing yards, while Travis Etienne Jr. dominated the ground game, racking up 99 rushing yards. The Buccaneers' Tom Brady contributed with one touchdown pass, but it was Keenan Allen's impressive 93 receiving yards that kept Tampa Bay in striking distance throughout the game. Defensively, Joey Porter was a standout for the Chargers, recording eight tackles to help stifle the Buccaneers' offensive efforts. The game's turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Chargers' defense held strong, forcing a crucial turnover that allowed them to maintain their slim lead. Despite a strong effort from Calais Campbell, who tallied 1.5 sacks for Tampa Bay, the Chargers' defense ultimately proved to be the difference-maker in this hard-fought matchup.
