In a thrilling Week 12 matchup, the Memphis Steamers narrowly defeated the Washington Commanders, 27-20, solidifying their playoff aspirations as the season winds down. Both teams entered the game with high stakes, but it was Memphis that emerged victorious, securing a crucial win at home. Jalen Milroe led the Steamers' offensive charge with an impressive performance, throwing for 204 yards and a touchdown. His connection with Eli Stowers, who racked up 76 receiving yards, proved pivotal in maintaining the momentum throughout the game. On the ground, Bhayshul Tuten showcased his skills for the Commanders, rushing for 110 yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome Memphis's balanced attack. Defensively, the Steamers were anchored by Xavier McKinney, who recorded 11 total tackles, ensuring that the Commanders' scoring opportunities were limited. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Memphis's defense held strong, stifling Washington’s potential game-tying drive. Jermaine Johnson II also put forth a commendable effort with two sacks, but it was Memphis's ability to make crucial stops that ultimately sealed their victory.
