In a tightly contested matchup, the Green Bay Packers narrowly defeated the Tokyo Dragons 20-17 in Week 8 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications on the line, both teams brought their A-game, but it was the Packers who ultimately emerged victorious on their home turf. Brett Favre was the standout performer for Green Bay, throwing for 249 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing the veteran's poise under pressure. Mike Evans also made a significant impact with a stellar performance, racking up 149 receiving yards, providing crucial support to the passing game. On the ground, the Dragons' Jeremiyah Love was a force, amassing 126 rushing yards, but it wasn’t enough to secure the win. Defensively, the Packers managed to hold off the Dragons during key moments, despite the impressive efforts from Tokyo's Julius Peppers, who recorded 2.5 sacks, and Riq Woolen, who secured an interception. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Packers' defense tightened, preventing a potential game-winning drive from the Dragons and allowing Green Bay to maintain their slim lead. It was a classic showdown that showcased both teams' strengths, but ultimately, the Packers' defense made the critical stops when it mattered most.
