In a commanding performance, the Washington Commanders defeated the Dallas Cowboys 38-7 in Week 2 of the 2026 season, solidifying their early lead in the division. With both teams eager to make a statement, Washington's dominance on both sides of the ball proved too much for Dallas to handle. Bo Nix was the standout performer for the Commanders, throwing for 216 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his efficiency and precision throughout the game. He connected frequently with receiver Art Monk, who racked up an impressive 106 receiving yards, highlighting the explosive nature of Washington's aerial attack. Meanwhile, Jayden Daniels struggled on the ground for the Cowboys, managing only 22 rushing yards, further illustrating the challenges faced by Dallas' offense. Defensively, Washington's unit made a significant impact, with Dillon Thieneman leading the charge by recording two crucial interceptions. Sean Taylor anchored the defense with three total tackles, contributing to a strong overall performance. The turning point came in the second quarter when Thieneman's second interception led to a quick touchdown, effectively swinging the momentum in favor of the Commanders and sealing the Cowboys' fate.
