In a defensive battle to kick off the 2027 season, the Buffalo Bills topped the New York Jets with a final score of 13-0. Both teams were looking to make a statement, but it was the Bills who came out on top, showcasing their resilience in front of the home crowd. Leading the way for Buffalo was quarterback Bryce Young, who threw for 156 yards and a touchdown, providing just enough firepower to secure the win. Khalil Shakir was his favorite target, racking up 63 receiving yards, while the Jets' Kaytron Allen stood out on the ground with an impressive 102 rushing yards, though it wasn’t enough to put points on the board. Buffalo's defense played a pivotal role in this shutout, highlighted by Quentin Lake’s two interceptions that stifled any momentum the Jets tried to build. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Lake's second pick set up a scoring drive that gave the Bills a comfortable lead. With Dre'Mont Jones adding a sack to the mix, the Bills' defensive unit proved formidable, leaving the Jets unable to find their rhythm all game long.
