In the opening game of the 2027 season, the New York Giants topped the Miami Dolphins with a final score of 34-20. Both teams were looking to establish momentum early in the year, but it was the Giants who secured a decisive victory on their home turf. Quarterback Justin Herbert led the way for New York, throwing for 301 yards and one touchdown, showcasing his ability to spread the ball effectively. Meanwhile, Zach Charbonnet made a significant impact on the ground with 84 rushing yards, while rookie sensation Troy Franklin emerged as a standout receiver, racking up 204 yards through the air. The Giants' offensive prowess proved too much for the Dolphins to handle. Defensively, the Dolphins struggled to contain the Giants' explosive offense, allowing key plays that shifted the momentum. The turning point came when Herbert connected with Franklin for a long touchdown, giving New York a commanding lead that Miami couldn't recover from. With Terrel Bernard leading the Dolphins' defense with 10 total tackles, it was clear that they fought hard, but the Giants' offensive firepower ultimately dictated the outcome.
