In a tightly contested matchup, the Houston Texans held off the New York Jets, securing a 28-21 victory in Week 3 of the 2027 season. Both teams showcased their playoff aspirations, but it was the Texans who emerged victorious, delivering a critical win on the road. Dak Prescott led the Texans with a solid performance, throwing for 194 yards, while Zay Flowers was his favorite target, racking up 139 receiving yards. The Jets' Michael Penix Jr. kept pace with two touchdown passes, but Kaytron Allen's impressive 133 rushing yards were not enough to swing momentum in favor of New York. Defensively, the Texans made crucial stops, highlighted by Nick Cross, who tallied eight total tackles, and Nick Herbig, who registered a key sack. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when A.J. Terrell Jr. of the Jets intercepted Prescott, giving New York a chance to tie the game. However, Houston's defense held firm, preserving the victory as time expired.
