In a pivotal Week 13 matchup, the Carolina Panthers topped the New York Jets 27-17, solidifying their playoff aspirations as the season approaches its climax. With both teams vying for momentum heading into the final stretch, the Panthers proved they could hold off a determined Jets squad. Quarterback Michael Penix Jr. led the Jets' offensive efforts, throwing for 282 yards and a touchdown, while Kaytron Allen contributed a solid 61 rushing yards. However, it was Matthew Golden of the Panthers who shone brightly, racking up 93 receiving yards and playing a key role in the Carolina offense's success. Penix's performance showcased his resilience, but the Jets struggled to sustain drives consistently. Defensively, Riq Woolen was a standout for the Panthers, accumulating 14 tackles and snagging two interceptions, which proved crucial in swinging the momentum in Carolina's favor. The turning point came late in the second half when Woolen's second pick halted a Jets drive, allowing the Panthers to extend their lead and ultimately secure the victory. The Panthers' defense held firm when it mattered most, ensuring their victory in this tightly contested battle.
