The Denver Broncos kicked off their 2026 season with a commanding 31-14 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs at Arrowhead Stadium. In this AFC West showdown, the Broncos set the tone early and never looked back, showcasing a balanced attack that left the home crowd stunned. This win gives Denver a strong start in what promises to be a competitive division race. Quarterback Bo Nix led the way for the Broncos, throwing for 251 yards and two touchdowns. His precision passing kept the Chiefs' defense on its heels, with Courtland Sutton being the primary beneficiary, racking up 78 receiving yards. On the ground, J.K. Dobbins provided a steady hand, rushing for 101 yards, helping Denver control the clock and maintain their lead. Defensively, the Broncos were just as impressive. Patrick Surtain II's interception halted a potential Chiefs' rally, swinging momentum firmly back in Denver's favor. Although Kansas City's Drue Tranquill managed eight tackles and R Mason Thomas added a sack, it wasn't enough to stifle the Broncos' offensive rhythm. Denver's ability to capitalize on turnovers and maintain defensive pressure proved to be the game’s turning point.
