The Atlanta Falcons topped the Jacksonville Jaguars with a decisive 40-15 victory in Week 16 of the 2027 season, solidifying their playoff hopes and handing the Jaguars a tough loss. With this win, the Falcons showcased their offensive prowess while the Jaguars struggled to find their rhythm in critical moments. Brock Purdy led the Falcons' offensive charge, throwing for 2 touchdowns and effectively managing the game. Though Kenneth Walker only rushed for 49 yards, he provided a steady ground game to complement Purdy's aerial attack. Meanwhile, Lamar Jackson of the Jaguars threw for an impressive 330 yards but ultimately couldn't convert enough of those opportunities into points. Defensively, the Falcons applied consistent pressure, highlighted by Bobby Okereke's sack, which contributed to the Jaguars' offensive struggles. The turning point came late in the first half when the Falcons intercepted a pass, leading to a quick touchdown that shifted momentum firmly in their favor. Renardo Green was active for Jacksonville, racking up 9 total tackles, but it wasn't enough to turn the tide against a relentless Atlanta offense.
