In a tightly contested matchup, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers held off the Atlanta Falcons with a final score of 16-10, solidifying their position in the NFC South as the 2026 season approaches the halfway mark. Both teams fought for playoff positioning, but it was the Buccaneers who came out on top, showcasing their resilience at home. Baker Mayfield led the charge for Tampa Bay, throwing for 227 yards, while Ted Hurst III emerged as a key target, racking up 134 receiving yards. The Falcons found some offensive momentum with Tua Tagovailoa connecting for a touchdown, and Kyren Williams contributed significantly on the ground with 72 rushing yards, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the Buccaneers' efforts. Defensively, Tampa Bay's Yaya Diaby made a significant impact with 1.5 sacks, which disrupted the Falcons' rhythm throughout the game. The turning point came late in the third quarter when Diaby's pressure forced a crucial error, allowing the Buccaneers to capitalize and extend their lead. Despite a strong performance from Jessie Bates III, who had nine tackles for Atlanta, the Buccaneers' defense proved to be the difference-maker in this matchup.
