In a thrilling Week 7 matchup, the Green Bay Packers defeated the Detroit Lions 31-24, keeping their playoff hopes alive in a tightly contested division race. Both teams entered the game looking to secure vital wins, but it was the Packers who capitalized on critical moments to claim victory. Jared Goff showcased his passing prowess for the Lions, racking up 281 yards and throwing two touchdowns. However, it was Josh Jacobs of the Packers who stole the show on the ground, amassing 142 rushing yards and proving to be a dominant force throughout the game. Amon-Ra St. Brown contributed significantly for Detroit with 115 receiving yards, but Green Bay's offense ultimately proved to be more effective. Defensively, the Packers made their presence felt, led by Lukas Van Ness, who recorded 1.5 sacks and consistently pressured Goff. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Green Bay's defense thwarted a potential game-tying drive, forcing a crucial turnover on downs. This defensive stand allowed the Packers to run down the clock and secure their victory, highlighting the importance of timely defensive plays in a close contest.
