The New Orleans Saints cruised to a decisive 33-7 victory over the Atlanta Falcons in Week 17 of the 2026 season, solidifying their playoff positioning. With this win, the Saints showcased their dominance and sent a clear message heading into the postseason. Tyler Shough led the charge for New Orleans, throwing for 258 yards and displaying precision in the passing game. Travis Etienne Jr. added a strong ground presence with 89 rushing yards, while Jordyn Tyson was a standout in the receiving corps, racking up 116 yards and proving to be a reliable target for Shough. Atlanta’s Trey Lance managed to find the end zone once through the air, but was otherwise contained. Defensively, the Saints turned the tide with D'Angelo Ponds' two interceptions, which played a crucial role in stifling Atlanta's offensive efforts. Despite a solid showing from the Falcons' defense, highlighted by Samson Ebukam's two sacks and Christian Harris's nine total tackles, they were unable to contain the Saints' balanced attack. The game's turning point came when Ponds intercepted a pass deep in New Orleans territory, leading to a quick touchdown that shifted momentum firmly in the Saints' favor.
