The San Francisco 49ers topped the Atlanta Falcons 45-28 in a Week 7 showdown of the 2026 season, solidifying their position as a playoff contender. With both teams vying for crucial conference standings, the 49ers showcased their offensive firepower to grab a decisive victory. Leading the charge for San Francisco, quarterback Brock Purdy delivered a stellar performance, throwing for 287 yards and five touchdowns. Christian McCaffrey added to the offensive onslaught with 89 rushing yards, while the Falcons' Drake London made his mark with 113 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with the explosive 49ers' attack. Defensively, San Francisco was relentless, with Amare Barno recording two sacks that put pressure on the Falcons' quarterback throughout the game. The turning point came in the second quarter when the 49ers scored three consecutive touchdowns, shifting the momentum and leaving Atlanta scrambling to recover. Dre Greenlaw led the defense with nine total tackles, playing a crucial role in stifling any potential Falcons' comeback.
