In a tightly contested season opener, the Seattle Seahawks topped the New England Patriots 17-10, kicking off the 2026 campaign with a victory. Both teams fought hard, but the Seahawks ultimately emerged victorious, setting the tone for what they hope will be a successful season. Quarterback Jalen Milroe was the standout performer for Seattle, throwing for 247 yards and two touchdowns. His connection with receiver Cooper Kupp proved crucial, as Kupp racked up 89 receiving yards, helping to keep the Patriots' defense on its heels. Meanwhile, Demond Claiborne added a solid ground game with 38 rushing yards, contributing to the Seahawks' balanced offensive attack. Defensively, the Seahawks were relentless, led by Ernest Jones IV, who made six total tackles, and Derick Hall, who recorded two sacks, disrupting New England's offensive rhythm. The turning point came late in the game when Seattle's defense stifled a potential scoring drive, sealing the victory and showcasing their ability to perform under pressure. Despite Robert Spillane's interception for New England, it was Seattle's defensive prowess that ultimately secured their Week 1 win.
