In a tightly contested matchup, the New England Patriots narrowly defeated the Denver Broncos 17-16, securing a crucial victory in Week 17 of the 2026 season. The win keeps the Patriots' playoff hopes alive as they head into the final stretch of the season, while the Broncos will need to regroup after this heartbreaker. Offensively, both teams made impactful plays, but it was Drake Maye who shined for the Patriots, throwing for two touchdowns and leading his team down the field when it mattered most. On the other side, Bo Nix of the Broncos showcased his arm with 237 passing yards, while RJ Harvey contributed significantly on the ground, racking up 96 rushing yards. Jaylen Waddle also had a strong performance with 87 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to clinch the win for Denver. Defensively, the game turned when Marcus Jones intercepted a crucial pass late in the fourth quarter, snuffing out a potential game-winning drive for the Broncos. Robert Spillane led the Patriots with six total tackles, helping to stifle Denver's offensive momentum. Nik Bonitto added pressure with a sack, but ultimately it was New England's ability to create turnovers that proved decisive in this close-fought contest.
