In a thrilling Week 2 matchup, the Washington Commanders topped the Dallas Cowboys 32-24, securing an important victory early in the 2026 season. Both teams were eager to establish momentum, but it was the Commanders who ultimately came out on top in this competitive showdown. Washington's Jayden Daniels stood out with an impressive 289 passing yards, leading his team effectively through the air. Meanwhile, Dallas quarterback Dak Prescott connected for two touchdown passes, keeping the game close, while Chigoziem Okonkwo was a reliable target for the Commanders, racking up 81 receiving yards. Jaylen Wright contributed on the ground for the Cowboys with 70 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to seal the win. Defensively, the Commanders were bolstered by Odafe Oweh, who recorded 1.5 sacks, putting consistent pressure on Prescott throughout the game. Cobie Durant of the Cowboys made his presence felt as well, with a game-high 12 total tackles and an interception, but the turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Washington's defense forced a crucial turnover, allowing the Commanders to maintain their lead and secure the victory.
