In an impressive display of offensive firepower, the New England Patriots topped the Pittsburgh Steelers with a final score of 42-28 in Week 2 of the 2026 season. The game showcased both teams' determination, but it was the Patriots who ultimately secured the victory, further establishing their dominance early in the season. Justin Fields of the Steelers had a standout performance, throwing for 345 yards and four touchdowns. Despite his impressive individual numbers, it was TreVeyon Henderson's exceptional rushing effort of 207 yards that propelled the Patriots' scoring attack. Germie Bernard also made a significant impact for Pittsburgh, racking up 127 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with New England's explosive offense. Defensively, the Patriots made key plays to disrupt the Steelers' momentum, highlighted by Kevin Byard III's sack and Craig Woodson's four tackles. The turning point came when New England managed to force a crucial turnover, allowing them to extend their lead and maintain control of the game. While the Steelers' defense fought hard, it was the Patriots' ability to capitalize on offensive opportunities that ultimately sealed their victory.
