In a thrilling Week 15 showdown, the San Francisco 49ers topped the Los Angeles Chargers with a final score of 49-37, solidifying their playoff hopes in the 2026 season. The stakes were high as both teams fought for crucial positioning in the playoff race, but it was the 49ers who emerged victorious in this high-scoring affair. Justin Herbert showcased his skills for the Chargers, throwing for 341 yards and an impressive five touchdowns, but it was Christian McCaffrey’s explosive performance that stole the spotlight. McCaffrey racked up 211 rushing yards, consistently breaking through the Chargers' defense and keeping San Francisco in control of the game. George Pickens also made a significant impact, leading his team in receiving yards with 138, but it wasn’t enough to overcome the offensive onslaught. Defensively, Nick Bosa was a standout for the 49ers, recording two sacks that disrupted Herbert’s rhythm at critical moments. The turning point came in the third quarter when Bosa's pressure led to a pivotal stop, allowing San Francisco to extend their lead. Despite several impressive plays from the Chargers' defense, including an interception by Daiyan Henley, it was the 49ers’ ability to capitalize on their opportunities that ultimately secured the win.
