In a tightly contested matchup, the Los Angeles Chargers narrowly defeated the Houston Texans 14-12 in Week 9 of the 2026 season. With playoff aspirations on the line, both teams fought hard, but it was the Chargers who ultimately held off the Texans in a defensive battle. Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert showcased his skills with 253 passing yards and one touchdown, leading his team to victory. Ladd McConkey provided reliable support in the passing game, recording 57 receiving yards, while the Texans’ David Montgomery stood out on the ground, racking up 108 rushing yards in a strong performance. Defensively, the Chargers made crucial stops, highlighted by Daiyan Henley’s eight total tackles, which helped stifle the Texans' offensive momentum. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when the Chargers' defense held strong, preventing a potential game-winning drive from Houston and sealing the game with a critical interception from Derek Stingley Jr.
