The Kansas City Chiefs topped the Denver Broncos 33-20 in a decisive Week 8 matchup, solidifying their position in the playoff race. Both teams entered the game looking to gain momentum, but it was the Chiefs who emerged victorious, showcasing their offensive prowess. Quarterback Patrick Mahomes delivered a stellar performance, throwing for 231 yards and four touchdowns, connecting frequently with Rashee Rice, who racked up 116 receiving yards. Meanwhile, RJ Harvey of the Broncos made his mark on the ground with 110 rushing yards, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with Kansas City’s explosive offense. Defensively, the Chiefs were formidable, led by Jadon Canady's four tackles, while Ashton Gillotte added a crucial sack, and Drue Tranquill secured an interception that shifted momentum in the second half. The turning point came midway through the third quarter when Tranquill's pick set up a quick touchdown drive, effectively putting the game out of reach for Denver.
