In a commanding performance, the New England Patriots topped the Jacksonville Jaguars 38-21 to improve to 2-1 in the 2026 season. The victory was crucial as both teams sought to gain momentum early in the year, and the Patriots made a strong statement with their all-around dominance. Drake Maye led the way for New England, throwing for 194 yards and three touchdowns, showcasing his ability to connect with his receiving corps. TreVeyon Henderson was a force on the ground, racking up 135 rushing yards, while Randy Moss made a significant impact in the passing game with 120 receiving yards. Together, they formed a potent offensive trio that kept the Jaguars on their heels throughout the contest. Defensively, the Patriots were equally impressive, with Robert Spillane notching six total tackles and a sack, while Carlton Davis III intercepted two passes, providing crucial turnovers. The turning point came late in the second quarter when Davis's first interception halted a promising Jaguars drive, allowing New England to extend their lead just before halftime. This defensive stand set the tone for the rest of the game, as the Patriots held off any comeback attempts from Jacksonville.
