In a commanding performance, the Kansas City Chiefs defeated the Los Angeles Chargers 52-21 in Week 17 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications on the line, the Chiefs solidified their position as a formidable contender, showcasing their offensive prowess and strategic execution. Patrick Mahomes was the star of the night, throwing for 290 yards and five touchdowns, leading an explosive Chiefs offense. Despite limited rushing yards, Kenneth Walker contributed to the ground game, while the Chargers' David Njoku put up impressive numbers with 138 receiving yards, but it wasn’t enough to keep pace with the Chiefs' scoring barrage. Defensively, the Chiefs were bolstered by Mansoor Delane, who snagged an interception, providing a crucial momentum shift in the game. Meanwhile, Khalil Mack of the Chargers made his presence felt with three tackles and three sacks, but ultimately, the Chiefs' offensive firepower overwhelmed any defensive efforts. The turning point came early in the second half when Mahomes connected on a deep touchdown pass, putting the game out of reach for the Chargers.
