In a hard-fought matchup, the Baltimore Ravens topped the Las Vegas Raiders with a final score of 17-7, securing their first win of the season in Week 2. With both teams looking to establish momentum early in the 2027 campaign, this victory keeps the Ravens firmly in the playoff conversation. Lamar Jackson led the Ravens' offense, throwing for one touchdown while managing the game efficiently. However, it was Derrick Henry who provided the ground support with 63 rushing yards, helping Baltimore maintain control on the field. The standout performance came from Fernando Mendoza of the Raiders, who threw for an impressive 286 yards, but ultimately, his efforts fell short with only one touchdown to show for it. Defensively, the Ravens made their presence felt, with Malaki Starks recording nine total tackles, while Andrew Van Ginkel's 2.5 sacks disrupted the Raiders' passing game significantly. The turning point came when Roquan Smith intercepted Mendoza late in the game, sealing the victory for Baltimore and preventing any late-game heroics from the Raiders. This performance showcased the Ravens' defensive tenacity and ability to capitalize on critical moments.
