In an electrifying Week 5 showdown, the Washington Commanders topped the Dallas Cowboys with a final score of 44-34, solidifying their position in the NFC playoff race. Both teams came into the game with high expectations, but it was the Commanders who emerged victorious in a crucial divisional matchup. Dak Prescott showcased his arm strength and precision for the Cowboys, racking up 322 passing yards and three touchdowns, but it wasn't enough to secure the win. On the other side, Breece Hall led the ground game for Washington with 98 rushing yards, while Jaylin Lane emerged as a vital target, amassing 143 receiving yards. Their contributions were pivotal in keeping the Commanders ahead on the scoreboard. Defensively, Washington's unit played a key role, highlighted by Trey Amos's interception that shifted the momentum late in the game. Despite the Cowboys' strong offensive showing, the Commanders' ability to create turnovers and pressure the quarterback proved decisive. The turning point came in the fourth quarter when Amos's pick set up a touchdown that extended the Commanders' lead, ultimately sealing the victory.
