The Detroit Lions secured a solid 31-21 victory over the Arizona Cardinals in Week 5 of the 2026 season, marking a crucial win as both teams vie for playoff positioning. The Lions capitalized on their offensive strengths to maintain control of the game and keep their momentum going. Jared Goff led the charge for Detroit, throwing for 235 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing a strong performance that kept the Cardinals' defense on their heels. Jahmyr Gibbs added to the offensive effort with 77 rushing yards, providing a balanced attack that proved difficult for Arizona to contain. On the receiving end, Marvin Harrison Jr. shone for the Cardinals, racking up 83 yards, but it wasn’t enough to swing the outcome in favor of Arizona. Defensively, the Cardinals had standout performances, with Garrett Williams leading the team with nine total tackles and Walter Nolen III contributing with 1.5 sacks. However, the Lions’ defense made key stops that shifted the game's momentum, particularly during the second half when they stifled a potential comeback by intercepting a pass that snuffed out a promising drive. Detroit's ability to respond to pressure ultimately sealed the win as they held off Arizona's late-game efforts.
