In a decisive Week 1 matchup of the 2026 season, the Pittsburgh Steelers topped the Atlanta Falcons with a final score of 37-16. Both teams aimed to make a strong start to the season, but it was the Steelers who asserted their dominance on both sides of the ball. Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers showcased his prowess by throwing for 273 yards and two touchdowns, leading his team with precision and poise. Rico Dowdle contributed significantly on the ground with 74 rushing yards, while the Falcons' Zachariah Branch emerged as a standout receiver, racking up 97 yards, though it wasn't enough to keep pace with Pittsburgh's offensive firepower. Defensively, the Steelers were relentless, with Jalen Ramsey making an impact throughout the game, recording five total tackles and snagging three interceptions. The turning point came when Ramsey's second interception in the third quarter shifted the momentum firmly in Pittsburgh's favor, allowing them to capitalize and extend their lead. The Falcons struggled to recover from that setback, as the Steelers' defense consistently stifled any attempts at a comeback.
