In a tightly contested matchup, the Los Angeles Chargers outlasted the Los Angeles Rams with a final score of 21-14 in Week 8 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications on the line, both teams were eager to secure a crucial victory, but it was the Chargers who came away with the win in this battle of L.A. Chargers quarterback Drake Maye led the way with a solid performance, throwing for 134 yards and two touchdowns. His reliability in the passing game was complemented by Caleb Douglas, who racked up 78 receiving yards, providing Maye with a dependable target throughout the game. On the ground, the Rams' Josh Jacobs managed to gain 52 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to shift the momentum in favor of Los Angeles. Defensively, the Chargers were a formidable force, with Calen Bullock making his presence felt by recording two total tackles and an interception that proved pivotal. Milton Williams also contributed with a crucial sack that stymied a Rams drive, ultimately altering the game's flow. The turning point came when Bullock's interception set up the Chargers' final touchdown, sealing the victory and highlighting the importance of defense in this closely-fought contest.
