In a thrilling Week 8 matchup, the Detroit Lions topped the Minnesota Vikings 41-28, solidifying their position in the playoff race. With both teams vying for key victories to bolster their postseason aspirations, the Lions delivered a strong performance on both sides of the ball. Arch Manning led the Lions' offense with 279 passing yards, while Michael Mayer emerged as a standout receiver, racking up 130 receiving yards. On the ground, Rueben Owens II of the Vikings showcased his skills with an impressive 266 rushing yards, but it wasn't enough to keep pace with Detroit's high-octane attack. Defensively, the Lions made critical plays to seal the victory, with Alim McNeill notching two sacks and D.J. Reed intercepting two passes. The game's turning point came in the second half when Reed's second interception shifted momentum back to Detroit, allowing them to capitalize and extend their lead, ultimately securing the win and a vital boost as the season heads into its final stretch.
