In a tightly contested matchup, the Washington Commanders narrowly defeated the Houston Texans 16-13 in Week 14 of the 2026 season. With playoff implications on the line, both teams fought hard, but it was the Commanders who emerged victorious at home, solidifying their position in the postseason race. Leading the charge for Washington was quarterback Jayden Daniels, who threw for 236 yards and a crucial touchdown that proved pivotal in the close game. The Texans struggled to find their rhythm offensively, with Woody Marks managing 83 rushing yards and Nico Collins contributing 81 receiving yards, but their efforts fell just short of overcoming the Commanders' defense. Defensively, the Commanders showcased their strength, with Cor'Dale Flott racking up 15 total tackles to stifle the Texans' advances. A key moment came when Dorance Armstrong recorded two sacks, putting pressure on Houston's quarterback and disrupting their offensive flow. This defensive performance, combined with timely scoring, ultimately secured the win for Washington.
