In a thrilling Week 5 matchup, the San Francisco 49ers narrowly defeated the Seattle Seahawks 41-35, solidifying their position in the competitive NFC West. With both teams looking to gain momentum in the season, the stakes were high, and the game lived up to the hype with a back-and-forth battle that kept fans on the edge of their seats. Brock Purdy led the charge for the 49ers, throwing for 256 yards and showcasing his ability to manage the game effectively. On the other side, Sam Darnold impressed with two touchdown passes, but it was Jaxon Smith-Njigba's standout performance with 108 receiving yards that kept the Seahawks within striking distance. Meanwhile, Zach Charbonnet added a solid ground game, rushing for 85 yards, which helped balance the offensive attack. Defensively, the Seahawks struggled to contain the 49ers' offensive firepower, despite Nick Emmanwori leading the team with eight total tackles. The turning point came in the fourth quarter when San Francisco’s ability to force a three-and-out gave them a critical opportunity to extend their lead. With an interception from Julian Love late in the game, the Seahawks had a glimmer of hope, but they were unable to capitalize, allowing the 49ers to hold off their late-game surge.
