The Minnesota Vikings topped the New Orleans Saints 33-21 in a Week 5 showdown of the 2026 season, solidifying their position as contenders in the conference. Both teams fought hard, but the Vikings managed to hold off a late charge from the Saints to secure the victory. Offensively, Tyler Shough was the standout for New Orleans, throwing for 335 yards and two touchdowns, while Chris Olave shined as his top target, racking up 117 receiving yards. Despite Shough's impressive performance, it was Demond Claiborne's 92 rushing yards that helped propel Minnesota to their win, showcasing a balanced offensive attack that kept the Saints on their heels. Defensively, Andrew Van Ginkel was a force for the Vikings, not only leading the team with three total tackles but also recording three sacks that disrupted the Saints' rhythm. Harrison Smith's three interceptions were pivotal, effectively changing the game's momentum and sealing the victory for Minnesota. The turning point came late in the third quarter when Smith's third pick set up a touchdown drive that gave the Vikings a commanding lead they would not relinquish.
