In a tightly contested battle in Week 4 of the 2026 season, the Houston Texans held off the Dallas Cowboys with a final score of 20-17. This victory elevates the Texans' standing as they strive for a pivotal win in a competitive division, while the Cowboys will look to regroup after a close loss. C.J. Stroud was the standout performer for the Texans, throwing for 245 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense effectively. David Montgomery contributed on the ground with 36 rushing yards, while Jake Ferguson of the Cowboys put up a solid effort, racking up 86 receiving yards but ultimately fell short in the scoring department. Defensively, Henry To'oTo'o emerged as a key player for Houston with four total tackles, helping to stifle Dallas's momentum. The turning point came late in the fourth quarter when Stroud's second touchdown pass put the Texans ahead for good, forcing the Cowboys to play catch-up in the waning moments. Despite a strong defensive push from Quinnen Williams, who recorded 1.5 sacks, Dallas couldn't find the end zone when it mattered most.
