In a decisive matchup on Sunday, the New England Patriots topped the Los Angeles Chargers 31-14, solidifying their position in the playoff race as the season nears its conclusion. The Patriots showcased a strong performance, proving critical for their postseason aspirations in Week 12 of the 2026 season. Drake Maye led the charge for New England, throwing for 162 yards and two touchdowns, demonstrating efficiency in the passing game. Meanwhile, TreVeyon Henderson was a force on the ground, racking up 132 rushing yards and keeping the Chargers' defense on its heels throughout the contest. The combination of Maye's precision and Henderson's explosive runs was instrumental in the Patriots' offensive success. Defensively, the Patriots made key plays that swung momentum in their favor. Craig Woodson's interception not only halted a potential Chargers scoring drive but also set the tone for New England's defensive resilience. With the Chargers struggling to find their rhythm, the Patriots' ability to capitalize on mistakes ultimately defined the game's outcome, allowing them to hold off any late-game comeback attempts.
