In a commanding performance to kick off the 2026 season, the Green Bay Packers topped the Minnesota Vikings with a final score of 34-16. This victory sets a strong tone for the Packers as they aim to assert their dominance in the NFC North early in the year. Quarterback Jayden Daniels led the charge for Green Bay, throwing for 249 yards and two touchdowns, showcasing his precision and poise. Derrick Henry added a powerful ground game, racking up 119 rushing yards that kept the Vikings' defense on its heels. Meanwhile, Tetairoa McMillan emerged as a reliable target, gaining 89 receiving yards and contributing significantly to the offensive attack. Defensively, the Packers were equally impressive, with Odafe Oweh recording a sack and Will Johnson grabbing an interception to disrupt the Vikings' rhythm. The turning point in the game came in the third quarter when Johnson's interception halted a potential scoring drive for Minnesota, allowing Green Bay to extend their lead and ultimately secure the win. The Vikings struggled to recover from that momentum shift, highlighting the Packers' ability to capitalize on defensive opportunities.
