The Seattle Seahawks opened the 2026 season with an impressive 27-3 victory over the New England Patriots, setting the tone for what they hope will be a strong campaign. The win not only boosts Seattle’s confidence but also raises questions about the Patriots' ability to compete in a challenging league landscape. Brock Purdy led the Seahawks' offense with a solid performance, throwing for 212 yards and a touchdown. Christian McCaffrey was a key contributor on the ground, racking up 95 rushing yards, while Quentin Johnston made his mark in the passing game with 57 receiving yards. Together, they provided a balanced offensive attack that kept the Patriots' defense on its heels throughout the game. Defensively, the Seahawks were effective in limiting New England's scoring opportunities, with Roquan Smith recording a sack that disrupted the Patriots' rhythm. Although Foyesade Oluokun stood out for New England with 11 total tackles, the Seahawks' defense consistently pressured the opposing offense, making it difficult for them to find any momentum. The game's turning point came in the second quarter when Seattle's defense forced a turnover, allowing the offense to extend their lead and ultimately cruise to victory.
