AI RECAPIn a commanding performance, the New England Patriots topped the Miami Dolphins 40-26 in Week 8 of the 2026 season. With both teams vying for playoff positioning, the Patriots showcased their potency, solidifying their status as a contender in the AFC.
Drake Maye led the Patriots' offensive charge, throwing for 333 yards and contributing significantly to the scoring effort. TreVeyon Henderson added a powerful ground game with 102 rushing yards, while the Dolphins' Malik Willis kept things competitive with two touchdown passes. Brandin Cooks emerged as Miami's standout receiver, racking up 130 receiving yards, but it wasn't enough to overcome New England's offensive firepower.
The Patriots' defense made critical plays, highlighted by Christian Gonzalez's interception that shifted momentum in the second half. While Jordyn Brooks of the Dolphins recorded 11 tackles, Miami struggled to contain New England's relentless attack. The game's turning point came when Gonzalez's pick set up a quick touchdown drive, allowing the Patriots to pull away and ultimately secure the victory.
