In a thrilling season opener, the Denver Broncos narrowly defeated the Kansas City Chiefs with a final score of 34-30. Both teams came into the game looking to set the tone for the 2026 season, but it was the Broncos who emerged victorious in this high-stakes matchup. Bo Nix delivered a standout performance for Denver, throwing for an impressive 417 yards and four touchdowns, showcasing his ability to lead the offense effectively. Jaylen Waddle also shined, racking up 158 receiving yards and proving to be a key target for Nix throughout the game. Meanwhile, Kenneth Walker led the ground attack for Kansas City, but his 64 rushing yards were not enough to secure a win. Defensively, the Broncos made crucial plays to keep the Chiefs at bay, with Alex Singleton leading the charge with 10 total tackles. While Kansas City managed to record one sack courtesy of Emmanuel Ogbah and an interception from Chamarri Conner, it was Denver's defensive resilience that ultimately sealed the game. The turning point came in the fourth quarter when a critical stop by the Broncos' defense prevented the Chiefs from taking the lead, allowing Denver to hold on for the win.
